09 Dec Meditation + Talk: Knowing How Deeply Our Lives Are Intertwined
This Wednesday Night Meditation included a 35-minute guided meditation and 49-minute talk and discussion with guest teacher Leslie Booker.
Known as “Booker,” she brings her heart and wisdom to the intersection of Dharma, Embodied Wisdom, and Social Justice. She shares her expertise nationally on expanding our vision around culturally responsive teaching, and changing the paradigm of self and community care.
Booker is a graduate of the 2020 Spirit Rock Retreat Teacher Training, is a 2020 Sojourner Truth Leadership Fellow through Auburn Seminary, and was voted by her peers as one of the 12 Powerful Women in the Mindfulness Movement in Mindful.org. Personally, I’ve learned a lot from Booker, including while teaching a retreat together. She’s smart, deep in practice, committed to people, and always right at the true heart of the matter.
I hope you find it helpful, and you are welcome to join my free Wednesday Meditations – open to everyone!

Generosity itself is a beautiful practice that opens and gladdens the heart, relaxes the contraction of “self,” and ripples out into the world to touch many people – and perhaps, eventually, even oneself.
Additionally, many expressions of generosity are not about money. People offer attention, encouragement, and patience many times a day. Sometimes we withhold when it would be so easy, actually, to listen quietly for another minute or to offer a word of appreciation or simply a look that says, “I’m with you.” Try being a little more generous for a day and see what happens.
